Carlos's 25 year career in international sales, business
development and marketing in the high technology arena started in
mainframe computer systems sales at Sperry Univac. He then caught
the Mini-Computer wave at Hewlett Packard where he led the worldwide
sales team dedicated to Nortel, their 10th largest global customer.
Riding the UNIX workstation market wave, he launched a 10 year
career at Sun Microsystems in 1987 as their National Sales Manager
for Telecom in Canada, to lead what became their key Canadian growth
engine and became the first ever Director of Marketing for Sun
Canada. Based in their Palo Alto HQ for 7 years, he held a variety
of International Sales, Business Development and Marketing Director
level positions in their Intercontinental and North American Field
Operations with extensive experience in direct sales, vertical
industry market development, field marketing, channel development,
technology licensing, global account and strategic partner
management. He experienced being at the centre of the explosive
$500M to $7.5B growth curve of Sun.
He returned to Canada in 1996 to join Jetform, an enterprise
application software company, as the VP International Sales and
later as Sr. VP of Marketing. Most recently he served as VP Sales at
Chrysalis-ITS, selling internet security hardware system solutions
to a global set of customers in government, telecommunications,
financial services and commercial accounts.
Carlos is now President of Intento International Inc., an Ottawa
based executive coaching, facilitation, consulting and education
practice dedicated to increasing the performance and enhancing
the lives of executives. He has been invited by TEC (The Executive
Committee), the world's largest CEO membership organization, to
create and Chair TEC chief executive peer groups in the Ottawa
Capital Region.
He holds an Electrical Engineering degree and a Masters of Management
Sciences in Organizational Behavior Psychology from the University
of Waterloo. He is also a graduate of the University of Western
Ontario's Ivey Marketing Management program. In addition he has
completed the highest level of "Catalyst for Change"
certification awarded by the WEL-Systems Institute (www.wel-systems.com).
