Executive Coaching on Rise

"A big shift is under way to provide

coaching for executives, which was

until recently considered "nice to

have" but not essential, a study by

the Canadian Management Centre

and its international affiliates finds.

Fifty-two per cent (52%) of 1,030

executives surveyed worldwide,

including 330 in canada, receive

coaching for performance; 13%

were started in the past year; and

37% of organizations that don't

have programs plan to initiate

executive coaching in the next

year.

Among reasons for having

coaching: 79% said it was to

improve overall performance,

63% to groom for top

leadership, and 60% to upgrade

specific skills."
